Waypoints
for flute and live electronics

Materials
Waypoints is a seven-minute improvisatory work for solo flute and live electronics, premiered by Robin Meiksins at the SPLICE Institute. The electronics are fixed media, shaped in performance by live reactive programming, so the material responds to the player’s acoustic gestures rather than simply accompanying them. The notation provides essential musical gestures rather than a fixed score; these function as the waypoints of the title, anchors along an otherwise open improvisational path.
Performance materials include the complete Max patch and samples required to realise the work.
